2014-2015 Workshops Now Open!

We are now accepting registration for our 2014-2015 workshop series. You can view and register for each workshop here. Our registration system has changed slightly and now offers you two ways to pay. Our prefered method is still PayPal, it is easy, fast, and makes it so we can quickly process registrations. However, if you prefer writing us a check or sending us cash in the mail you can now print off your order invoice and send it in the mail with a check.

Here is a taste of some of the workshops we have coming:

Elizabeth Nunez - Guest Clinician

In September we will feature Elizabeth Núñez, Associate Conductor for the Young People’s Chorus of New York City. She will be sharing proven techniques for nurturing independent musicians within the choral classroom. In additional, the session will feature actual choral repertoire to demonstrate the teaching techniques for transferring learning from classroom activities into the choral rehearsal.

Any choral teacher looking for some new ideas would benefit from attending this fantastic three hour workshop. (For more details or to register for this workshop, click here.)

Naomi Cohen_01 (1)

In October you’ll have an opportunity to expand your multi-cultural repertoire with Naomi Cohen’s workshop “Jewish Music to Dance and Sing.” This workshop will not only focus on the repertoire, but the meaning behind the dances and songs and their importance in the Jewish tradition.

Clinician Naomi Katz-Cohen has had extensive experience and training in the folk traditions of the Jewish people. In additions to her Master’s level work on the subject she has presented both regionally and at National conferences on the topic. (For more details or to register for this workshop, click here.)

Susan MisloveWe close out our workshop season in May with Susan Mislove-Donnelly leading a technology workshop “Making the SmartBoard Sing!” This workshop will be at the Western Connecticut State University Campus and we hope our more Western Connecticut members take advantage of this opportunity to see what KESNE is all about. This workshop will show countless tricks to seamlessly integrate interactive technology into your teaching lessons with no prior technology experience required.

Susan began working on a SMART Board over seven years ago and was instantly inspired by the imaginative, innovative and multi-sensory experiences she was able to create for her students. And now she is going to share that knowledge and experience with you. (For more details or to register for this workshop, click here.)
