“Double Header With Donna” November 21!

unnamedWhat a great workshop and fantastic presenter!

This dual-purpose workshop will feature two sessions presented by Donna. First, in “Fun and Games in the Kodály Classroom” we’ll move to chants and songs from the United States and other countries, experiencing level-specific modifications and variations for a traditional classroom space filled with desks.

Then, in “Celebrating Contemporary Choral Compositions in Honor of Zoltan Kodály” we will celebrate five Ruth Boshkoff Prize choral works commissioned by the OAKE from 2011-2015. Attendees will walk through a pedagogical analysis and discuss literacy concepts for each piece, sequencing common rhythmic and melodic elements, and enjoy singing and viewing excerpts of the OAKE National Honors Choirs world premiere performances.
